What would the Hans-Peter Porsche Traumwerk be without dream cars? We will introduce a new Traumwerk-Car every month.
You will find the original vehicle as a special highlight in our Achter. And for everyone who doesn’t make it into our exhibition at the moment, feel free to check this page regularly.
YEAR 1988 – 2849 CM3
450 PS / 331 KW – 317 KM/H
6 CYLINDER BOXER
The 959 began its triumphal march on rallies and circuits 35 years ago.
The super sports car made its debut in 1985 as a technology carrier and the fastest production vehicle in the world with road approval. The 2.85-liter six-cylinder boxer engine delivers 450 hp thanks to the innovative turbocharging and intercooling, an in-house development by Porsche. Power is transmitted by a 6-speed gearbox and an electronically controlled transaxle all-wheel drive.
Only 292 copies were produced in total.
The model was very popular with customers and in order to avoid excessive price increases, there was a requirement not to resell the car within six months.
THE PORSCHE 959:
THE FASTEST PRODUCTION VEHICLE IN THE WORLD
The selected drivers of the 959 included Herbert von Karajan, Bill Gates – although the vehicle was not approved in the USA and Boris Becker.
